Holiday Itinerary - Day by Day Travel Details:
Day 1.: Arrival in Guwati.
On arrival at Guwati airport to meet with our local tour executive, who will assist in your airport check out and thereafter to leave for Manas National park – 180 kms / 4 hours drive, a World Heritage site and world famous for tigers and its natural beauty. The park covers an area of 2,840 km, but its core area is 360 km. While tiger sighting is rare, you might just catch sight of the golden langur, the Asiatic buffalo, wild bison, wild dog (dhole), otter and civet. The rare red pandas are also found here but on the Bhutan side.
On arrival, check in at the Bansbari Lodge. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 02: Manas National Park
To wake up early morning and go for elephant ride, inside the park. This is a wonderful and exciting way to enjoy the nature up close. Thereafter to come back to the Lodge for breakfast,and after breakfast to go on a nature walk inside the forest to see the different types of birds etc. For birdwatchers such diverse nature within this small area is an opportunity to encounter with varied species. The Bengal Florican and Great Pied Hornbill are almost sure sightings. Along the river banks one can spot water birds such as mergansers, Brahminy ducks and egrets. Back to the lodge for lunch and the go for a Jeep safari inside the park. One can discover the wonders of Manas: the Bhutan Himalaya, foothill tree forests, the riverine landscapes, the swamps and the rich grasslands. Numerous animals live in this diverse nature, some rare mammals being Bengal Tigers, One Horned Rhinoceros, Asian Elephants, Pygmy Hog, Hispid Hare, Golden Langur etc. The safari is up to Mathanguri Point on the Bhutan side. Walks are allowed on Bhutan side, along the river for sighting of golden langur. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 03: Manas National Park – Nameri National Park
After breakfast to check out and leave for Nameri National Park ( 6 hours / 310 km).On arrival, to check in at the Eco Camp. Afternoon, at leisure and could take a walk on the banks of river Jia Bhoroli that flows near the camp. The Eco camp has comfortable double bedded tents with a thatched roof canopy. Come back to the camp at dusk. Dinner and overnight at the camp.
Day 04: Nameri National Park
Early morning go for river rafting on Jia Bhoroli river. This short rafting trip for 2 hours is ideal for seeing the birds and wildlife of the park up close. Back to the camp and have breakfast. Thereafter could go for trekking inside the park. A naturalist will guide you on this trip. Evening at leisure. Dinner and overnight at the camp.
Day 05 : Nameri National Park –Tezpur - Kaziranga National Park
After breakfast, drive to the ancient town of Tezpur (40 km / 1 hour). On arrival, to do sightseeing of Tezpur and thereafter to proceed to Kaziranga National Park (85 km / 2 hours), a world heritage site and famous for its one horned rhino.
On arrival, check in at the resort. Dinner and overnight stay at the resort.
Day 06 : Kaziranga
To get up very early in the morning for an exciting elephant ride. Enjoy the ride through the Park for about an hour and get the feel of beautiful nature, get to see the famous one horned rhino, wild elephant, Indian bison, swampdeer, samba, hogdeer, tiger, leopard, jungle cat, capped langoor, etc.
Thereafter to return to the resort and after breakfast to go and explore the Central range of the park on a Jeep safari. It is an ideal introduction to the park and its ecology as the route passes through the entire spectrum of habitat types prevalent in the area. There is a possibility of sighting elephants as well as the other Mega herbivores and the famous Rhino. Afternoon go on another Jeep safari inside Western range of the National Park to enjoy the wildlife of the park.
The route traverses the southwest portion of the park. This range has maximum short grass areas and is the optimum habitat for Rhino and Water Buffalo. Part of the drive is also through Low Alluvial Savannah Woodland.
Traditional cultural dance at the resort in the evening. Dinner and overnight at the resort.
Day 07 : Kaziranga – Gibbon - Jorhat – Departure to further destination.
Today early morning drive to Gibbon Wildlife Sanctuary (135 km/ 3 hours). Go trekking inside the park to see the Hillock Gibbon and other different varieties of primates found here. Thereafter transfer to the Jorhat airport (45 km / 2 hours ) for your further destination.
